Dunedin-based accessories designer Tmasin Cooper has partnered with the Royal New Zealand ballet for the second time, to launch a collection created for the Meridian Season of The Sleeping Beauty. The range, which will be available online from October, is made from sumptuous velvets and silks, and each piece has been hand embroidered with the RNZB’s Sleeping Beauty design. The collection includes a vintage-style velvet coin purse, silk rosebud brooches, head bands and hair ties, a luxurious shoe bag, velvet shoulder bag and velvet eye mask. Cooper, who the RNZB praises for the femininity and elegance of her designs, previously partnered with the company in 2009 to create a range of merchandise for lovers of the ballet, including a pendant necklace, compact mirrors and evening clutch. “We are delighted to be in partnership with another of New Zealand’s createive talents and believe Tamsin Cooper’s new Sleeping Beauty range is in perfect alignment with our new production of the Meridian Season of The Sleeping Beauty,” says the RNZB general manager, Amanda Skoog.
