Well I can't believe we are bringing you Episode five of "Hearts in Crafts"! The new TVNZ series for those of us passionate about craft is well underway and we are receiving wonderful feedback, so thank you for watching!
This weekend Justin and I show you how to design your own rather groovy cushions, if I do say so myself! I go a little wayward with the spray paint (not that we will show you this on TV!) and we travel the length of the country to bring you some fascinating crafters. I present the show wearing a 50s dress with a gorgeous print of full blown lime roses on it accessorised with my own 100% silk & silk organza brooches in vibrant orange and green.
We take you to the beautiful historical quarter in Oamaru to meet well known Book Binder Michael O’Brien, to meet a crafter of cute Tea Cosies www.kina.co.nz and to view the work of ceramic artist Gillian Weavers who creates hope after the devastating Christchurch earthquake by turning earthquake silt into stunning ceramic jewellery. www.mudbird.co.nz
I highly recommend a trip to Oamaru, the historic buildings are simply stunning and there are all sorts of interesting creatives to meet and buy from, not to mention fantastic local food to eat. There is definitely something of a artistic renaissance happening there! www.visitoamaru.co.nz
Justin and I look forward to seeing you again this Sunday night 7pm TVNZ ‘Heartland’ Sky Channel )17
