We are all guilty of it, leaving the house without the essentials. You go to grab your lip-gloss or cell phone and it's just not there...
Alternatively, your handbag is suspiciously light as you leave the
door only to discover it's because your wallet is back on the kitchen
table! Or of course, it can all go the other way, where you take
everything with you from that book your reading, to two makeup compacts
and your favourite mascara - just in case!
The savvy nzgirl
knows exactly what the handbag essentials are, and if you're not
already in the know, we show you what the handbag essentials are...
The Handbag
The
most important part of the puzzle is the handbag itself, and choosing
the right handbag can prevent a myriad of packing disasters later on.
First, it must be gorgeous - after all, it is the little things that
make the outfit. Your handbag has to be the right size, not so small
you can barely squeeze in your wallet, but not so large your tempted to
carry your entire life around with you!
Our pick is the delightful velvet shoulder bag ($175.00 from Tamsin Cooper stockists),
completed with hand embroidered floral design. The satin lining is a
luxe finish but of course, the bag is ever practical with a great size
and internal zip pocket.
Making sure you take your keys and then being able to fish them
out quickly, is another matter. Make sure your keys are attached to a
keying that stands out. We love the 100% silk outer and detailing on
this Tamsin Cooper keyring(1) $16.50 from Tamsin Cooper.
Everyone has their favourite lip colouring. I like Laura Mercier lipstick for the ultimate in colour and moisture(2). To keep it safe, try putting it in a lipstick case(3). Be sure to keep your lippy and its gorgie case, along with your pressed powder(4) in a small makeup bag(5) that you can also throw your other makeup favs into. One of my personal must-haves is blotting paper, but tissues(9) are a good idea too.
Always make sure you have your wallet, but add in a coin purse(7) to hold bus or parking money. Business card holders(5)
are great for keeping your shopping card handy or keeping track of your
fav businesses, and can slip easily inside your wallet(13) if needed.
Along with the basics like your cell phone, don’t forget your favourite miniature perfume(8), something to write with(10) and an all-important mirror(11)!
