Tamsin Cooper shows in London

Arrowtown's fashion and accessories queen Tamsin Cooper is showing her label next month at one of London's trendy boutique trade fairs.

Cooper's comprehensive range of fashion accessories has been selected to show at design-led trade show Pulse, at Earls Court, London.

The Arrowtown designer will leave her Central Otago home for the show next week and says she cannot wait.

"I've never travelled that far to show my collection, so it's really exciting," Cooper said.

It had been a thrilling 10 months since settling a bitter High Court legal dispute with another well-known New Zealand fashion designer in July last year.

Trelise Cooper had objected that Tamsin Cooper's brand name "Tamsin Cooper" was too similar to her own label, "Trelise Cooper".

Details of how the dispute was settled remain confidential but Tamsin Cooper admitted that media coverage of the spat had helped promote awareness of her label.

More recent boosts of the label had included launching of the business's online store in October and receiving a "wicked" review at this year's ID Dunedin Fashion show, held in March, she said.

Cooper said the timing was right to target United Kingdom markets and the Pulse trade show would give the business leverage to do so.

"We believe that the Pulse show is the best place for us to launch `Tamsin Ms Cooper' to both British and European markets."

Pulse 2008 runs from June 1 to 3 and this year has 700 exhibitors in five product categories. Southland Times
